When I was a teenager I was into a band called Nirvana after I heard
them on John Peel's show on Radio One. They were like so uncool back
then, as this was before they were the cult band that was "the voice
of a generation". Somehow the rough energy and geeky humour of the
band
infected me and
Kurt Cobain
became
my hero
for
several
years.
Kurt Cobain was never one to deny his feminine side and somehow wearing
a dress and Courtney Love's underwear just made Kurt Cobain even more
of a rock star.
Anyway! On my birthday after I came out to my parents they sent me a
card of none other than my hero, Kurt Cobain and I've saved it on my
PC ever since. I thought I'd share it with you not so that you gloat
over how cool Kurt is but at the message he wrote on the back which my
Mum choose as apt for me:
